February 1, 2012

February 1, 2012.  The journal adventure moves into month two. When I started I wasn’t absolutely sure where this was going to go, and at this point it is certainly still evolving.  But I like it.  I’ve logged my exercise for the month:  20 of 31 days.  My knitting: one small FO, a large project almost complete and an ongoing pair of socks.  I’ve logged a couple of books I’d like to read and movies I’d like to see.  There is new wine discovered and medical information to keep track of for my Dad.  Interesting to others - maybe not.  Interesting to me - very much so.
Being a memory lane person I think this is something I may keep up for the second half of my life.  The half where I can’t quite remember things (like why did I walk into this room?), the half where valuing the little things seems so much more important, the half  where hopefully there is more time to reflect, relax and log more ideas for fun times ahead.  Just writing this makes me think…I’ve got to keep track of the cool rentals in the mountains of North Carolina. I’ve got to list out the National Parks I’ve been reading about.  I’ve got to write down a couple of other books I’ve discovered.  And right now…I’ve really got to get back to work!

I think it's a lovely idea. I like your handwriting, too!

I was just about to say the same thing that Carole said; "Your beautiful handwriting is just amazing!" I used to keep a journal, way before the idea of "blogging", but haven't kept it up for years now. What a great reminder this post was!

it took me a while to get comfortable with my journal. I'm now into year 5 and nearly done with journal 13. it's a wonderful way to capture the moment...and I LOVE to look back over the years to remember where I was and what I was thinking. your monthly summaries are going to be a treasure!
