Just so you know...there is knitting info at the end of this drivel. Say hello to the PurlySpaniel first though. He's a good dog. But the blog is about trivia. Like idioms, this is something near and dear to my heart. The little facts that you can add to a conversation, trivial information that is sometimes just what you need to break the ice. While drinking wine across the street at my neighbor's house, I just learned that Kris Kristofferson wrote "Me and Bobby McGee". Could it be possible that I've listened to that song for the past 30 years, and didn't know that? I love the useless knowledge that I carry around in my head. Did you know that Trisha Yearwood and the Dixie Chicks both successfully recorded songs written and recorded by Bonnie Raitt? The cross over songs, Wild for you baby and Give it up or let me go, are in my humble Central Massachusetts opinon, great renditions. I love the teeny tiny type on the inserts in the CD's we buy. There is so much interesting information. An now, given I have all of this useless information I am forced to recognize the cold hard parent place I've arrived at in life. That it is indeed completely useless information. I now welcome you to the the Periodic Table. And that is not an assembly of my annual calendar. That is H and W and O and C and Cr and Mn. Can you identify them? I can today, and won't be able to next Tuesday. It is frightening what we don't know and can't let on about. I can fudge my way through music pretty well. TLP is doing his own cross over with Led Zepplin and the Doors (yawn) and Pink Floyd. We can talk the talk. We can humble him if necessary. But the academics...ouch. I don't know the table. I don't know the facts any longer. DH has been seen studying the math book in the early a.m. in preparation for homework 101. This is a journey that will be difficult. It is as though we now have 4 years of high school ahead of us. I'm hoping I come out a little brighter than when I left the first time. It's almost interesting learning now. Do you think I can re-take the SAT?
I'm coming clean and admiting that I potentially exposed my self to my sockpal. So this is a warning - if you're my sock pal and you don't want to see your socks look away now.
